During fall and winter each year, there is a need for warm clothing among the DTES residents. We collect new and good-condition used clothes from our donors and distribute them according to the needs of our recipients. Moreover, first-aid kits and sanitary products are either bought with the monetary donations we receive or are picked up directly from our donor companies and are circulated among women and injured individuals. Moreover, in some cases, information is much more needed, even more than food and clothing, for those persons who seek advice on receiving services from the Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation, Ministry of Children and Family Development, and Vancouver Aboriginal Children and Family Services Society. The support our recipients usually need information about includes residential tenancy, Canada Pension Plan benefits, old age security and income supplements, and welfare.
